INDIAN SUMMER INDIAN WINTER
We are having many Indian summers this year and also some Indian winters.
Yesterday here in Wenduine people celebrated Halloween. All the happening take place in the weekends, to boost the economy.
No need for fireworks, there was thunder and lightning in the sky, and hail storm just to add to the fun.

The hailstones were not so big as the bible says in revelation, and that calmed me down. No end of the world yet, I thought.
It is a times of change now, some migrating birds , have already left.
The art work called Sand-worm has been able to cope with a first storm, with a second too, but the third has been deadly. End of the story.

Now the branches, like the bones of a leaving creature are taken away to be recycled into something else. I'll miss it.

The other art-worl being exposed in the rotonde of Wenduine has be taken down too. it was not my best liked art work, but i got used to it and now I'll miss it.

Today the sun is shining and i took Speedy to the beach to the ocean.
He refused to look at it. " If I don't look it is not there" He says. Who will blame him?

The Ghosts have been soaked by the hail shower.
The artworks on the beach and even on a pier do not resist to the anger of the sea . This is an example of the human fatuity. The ancients knew we have not to build on the sand .
I like Speedy . He looks like a saint with a halo of hair . it is true this is All Saints Day the first of November .
By the way, tomorrow Janine and I are going for the pilgrimage of the graves in the area of Boulogne- Marquise ( my birthplace ) .in waiting others cemeteries in other places . We do not know what Halloween is . Unknown in the battalion !!
Amitié à toi

I would suspect your winters there to be rather unpleasant affairs - cold, damp, and windy - though, of course, I don't know that for sure. Your pup does look like he's ready to go back home! peace, Al
Smart dog.
When I was young we had a book about a family with a farm. There was a hailstorm that destroyed their crop of wheat, but they gathered hailstones and made ice cream.
The hail looks pretty big nonetheless ! O_0
Hey I agree. Smart dog.
We did not have our Indian Summer yet but I do not give up! Love to you both
I'm kind of bummed about the artwork. It was cool while it lasted. I'm glad you got pictures of it before it got taken down. I hope you have a chance to enjoy the weather that's been more pleasant!
Speedy is very cute.
it is certainly the season for change, Martain has come and gone, the hail has come and gone, the sandworm has come and gone ~ it's a good thing you have Speedy to stay with you!
@Want2FitIn2Fat2Fit -
They were big indeed (The grains). Scary too, but it lasted only a short time.
@TutelageOfTheMundane - it was made with the purpose to show how nature works, and that is the reason I liked it so much. I knew it would end, but I hoped for a little longer, like falling in love, you know it will finish one day ....
@Roadkill_Spatula - Good that they had something to make ice cream, berries?
@angys_coco - that is nice thing to say, coming from a cat.
@pukemeister - Yes, lot of wind and rain, but I kind of like it. Knowing and hearing the roar of the ocean just on the other side of the dune is exciting.
@carlo - Hope you have insurance !
@carlo - and you don't have to shovel rain! - lol
''It is a Blessing for Anne to be able to view your magnificent photos. Life is about seasons and change. Be certain you are missed, and it seems that Speedy's eyes show he misses his mom. Thank you for taking such good care to document all that is happening in your area. Homesick!!! This how it is for Anne but I Am there with you both, never forget this. AMEN''
It's sad about the Sandworm. I feel the same as you when they remove temporary public artworks in Montreal and which I liked a lot.
yes,sad. We all knew it was not going to last very long,but I thought a couple of years at least. I was looking gorward to see the effects of winter on the sand worm. Bad luck.
